As a first year student, venturing off to college can be a daunting experience. Luckily, Vanderbilt has many individuals to make the transition as smooth as possible, specifically Residential Advisors (RAs). Eileen Ulate, RA of Sutherland’s fifth floor, helps her residents make the most of the Commons experience! Whether it is movie nights, cookie decorating, secret Santa, or simply homework in the common room, Eileen has helped make Sutherland home.Â
What are you involved in on campus?
I’m an RA on the Commons. I’m on the Vanderbilt Programming Board’s Homecoming Committee. I’m in a sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and I recently joined the Alternative Spring Break family.
You are such a great RA. What made you decide to take on this responsibility?
I became an RA because I love what it means. To help first years grow into incredible Vandy students and be there whenever they need me is a pretty great job.
Anything fun on your bucket list?
On my bucket list is skydiving and visiting every continent. I did the first one in August!
If you could pick one celebrity to attend Vanderbilt who would it be?
I would pick Adam Levine because he has the voice of an angel!
Only a few more days until break! What are you most excited for?
I am most looking forward to spending time with my family and going to Universal with them!
