We are now in Exam Week 2! That means the semester’s over but we still have work to do. If you’re all lucky enough to have exams in the second week it means you have more time to study (not procrastinate) but it also means you have to wait a bit longer than other students who have already got their exams out of the way. This week we thought we’d help you out with some prep ideas to get you ready for Exam Week 2!
Exam Prep Idea #1
First you want to clean your desk and set it up ready for study – get rid of any unwanted items and keep your phone away from the desk and serisously don’t log on to Facebook… you will never log out!
Exam Prep Idea #2
Next up prioritise! What ever exam you have first, study for that one in the first half of the day, have about an hour’s break or so then start studying for your next test. At USC you can only ever have up to four exams, so if you have less then that, awesome! Less study!
Exam Prep Idea #3
Once you have started to get in a sort of study habit, write up a plan for the week ahead of when you will study and at what times, the you can set alarms on your phone or tablet telling you what to do next and what to study for!
Exam Prep Idea #4
After that make sure you add in break times, not only to have something to eat (brain food!) but also to just relax. Make a time after each study day that you will put away the books and have some rec time. E.g At 8:30pm I will stop studying and watch tv, read etc before I go to bed.
Exam Prep Idea #5
At this stage you should be now getting to the day of one of your exams. What you need to do now is have a list of notes that are the most important for the exam – the things you need to remember. Putting it in point form means you don’t have to read over massive paragraphs! If you can bring in notes to your exam, even better! You can keep them and study them right up to the exam and look on them throughout!
Exam Prep Idea #6
Do Exam Prep Idea #5 for every exam, notes are always best! Once you’ve finished your exams your done and dusted for the year and won’t have to worry about it til Mid-terms next year!
Congrats!
