Red Sox Are Down in the Series 2-1
After having an amazing first game against the St. Louis Cardinals this past Wednesday, winning 8-1, the Red Sox have proceeded to lose the following two games. Everyone loves an underdog and hopefully that is what the Red Sox are setting up for us, a nice little come back series. Game 4 is scheduled for tonight at 8:15 p.m. and will be played at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Tomorrow’s game will also be a home game for the Cardinals before games 6 and 7 come back to Boston where the Red Sox will hopefully show that with a stadium full of cheering and adoring fans, there is no way they can lose.

Lululemon Doesn’t Do Their Research
I am going to come out and say it; we have a Lululemon obsession on this campus. Everything from their extremely comfy yoga pants to the cute tote bags they give with your purchase can be seen on BC’s campus any given day. However, it appears as if Lulu has skipped out on doing their research for their latest shopping tote. If you have visited Lulu recently you know that the newest totes have the word Brahmacharya in giant letters on the front and back of the bag. The word is defined on the side of the tote as meaning “moderation and refraining from excess.” However, a quick Google search of the word shows that the meaning is actually celibacy! In terms of yoga, the word means channeling one’s sexual energy towards union with the divine, which is traditionally the ultimate goal of yoga. So the next time you go to Lululemon you can laugh a little when the cashier hands you your bag reminding you to remain celibate.

Massachusetts Teacher is Killed by Her Student
Students were allowed to return to their class this Friday at the Massachusetts high school where a 14-year-old boy killed a beloved math teacher earlier this week. The body of Colleen Ritzer was found in the woods near the school on Wednesday around midnight. According to local law enforcement, Colleen Ritzer’s throat was slit with a box-cutter in a bathroom on the second floor of the high school before it was then wheeled out of the school in a recycling bin. Her body was then dumped in the woods and covered with leaves. Phillip Chism was charged as an adult for first-degree murder and was held without bail following the viewing of a surveillance camera video that placed him entering the bathroom right after Ritzer and leaving covered in blood. On Friday, when the school reopened, 1,000 parents showed up to talk about security and support for their children.Â

Jelly Belly Candy Chair Underwriting Anti-Trans Student Initiative
‘Tis the season for candy munching and crazy Halloween costumes. Well this Halloween, if you find yourself eating jelly beans or gummy bears you could be putting money into the hands of a man who is trying to take away the rights of trans and non-gender-conforming expressive students. Herman Rowland Sr., Chair of the Jelly Belly Candy Company, is a major contributor to the Privacy for All Students initiative campaign which is an attempt to secure enough signatures to repeal the historic “School Success and Opportunity Act” which aims to protect the rights and well being of transgender students in the state of California.
