Internships are an important part of the college experience as they allow students to practice skills learned in the classroom. Many students, though, are overwhelmed by the internship search. They often wonder where to start. Here’s a list of places to begin your internship search:
1. If you have declared a major, your school or department at Mizzou should send out regular emails about internship and job opportunities. These emails are a great place to start as they cater to your field of interest.
2. Another great place to start searching is HireMizzouTigers.com. You can use this site to look for jobs and internships. Employers can use it to search for you, as well, since HireMizzouTigers allows you to post your resume online. The Career Services center can help update and correctly format your resume, and give you tools to practice job interviewing. Check out their website or visit them on campus.
3. If you’re interested in an internship with a specific company, don’t be afraid to go to that business and ask them directly about available opportunities. You’ll be surprised by how many businesses are waiting for someone toactively seek out a position!
4. Talk to your friends, professors and parents! Your friends and professors might have internships ideas, and parents might offer insight into currently available opportunities that could benefit your future career.
5. Check out other internship aggregation websites, such as:

The internship search may seem confusing, but don’t be afraid to search the Internet, talk to friends, or ask businesses about opportunities directly. The more research you do, the better opportunities you will find!
