Ever get bored of plain old jeans? During the colder months, it is often hard to find new ways to wear our jeans (when we finally decide to not wear yoga pants).  Here are a few ways you can “spice up your jeans” and keep your style exciting.
DIY #1: Distressed
We’ve all seen it- distressed jeans are in style. There’s only one problem: who wants to pay $80 for jeans with holes in them? If you have an old pair of jeans that are already faded, ripped, or stained, turn them into a fashion project by destroying them even more! All you have to do is take a scissor and go at it.  You’ll be surprised how cute they turn out; just don’t go too crazy!
DIY #2: Bleached
Accidentally bleach or fade your jeans? No worries! You can turn this boo-boo into a cute project by bleaching them even more. Faded jeans are in, and you can even make unique designs or patterns. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can try to create an ombré look by dipping certain parts of your jeans in bleach for longer periods of time than others.
DIY #3: Patched
If you aren’t into “holey” jeans, you can easily fix a rip by sewing in a cute patch. The fabric options are endless, and it creates a cute, hand-me-down look.  You can even sew patches onto pockets (front or back), or even iron on embroidered designs. Whatever you decide to do, you’re sure to create an individual and stylish look!
DIY #4: Studs
Studs are an edgy way to give your jeans an exciting new twist. Studded jeans come at high costs at clothing stores, but you can easily make your own! Â Purchase studs (whatever size you desire), grab a hot glue gun, and get to it. Â Simply arrange the studs however you would like them, and glue them into place. Â Be sure to let the design completely dry before wearing or doing anything with the jeans.
Don’t be afraid to combine any of these trends, try them on shorts, or create your own new trend! You’ll be surprised by how many cute ways you can spice up some old jeans to show off around campus like they are brand new.
