Marc Kusant, Fall ’13

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

Marc Kusant, Fall ’13Ā

Vital Stats:
Hometown: Parsippany, New Jersey
Major: Communication Studies, Organizational Track
Minor: Marketing

Basics:

Campus Activities: Iā€™m a part of the Husky Ambassadors. We connect alumni back to campus as well as give tours to prospective students, participate in community service, and give back to the town of Bloomsburg.
Favorite Band: New Found Glory
Favorite Movie:Ā  James Bond: Casino Royale
Favorite Food: New York Strip Steak
Most Frequently Played Song on your iPod: Green Light ā€“ John Legend ft Andre 3000
Favorite Class taken at Bloomsburg: Interviewing
Any classes you wish were offered? Pharmaceutical marketing or some type of medical marketingā€¦ thatā€™s what I want to do when I graduate. It would be nice to have some background before diving in.
Favorite Spot on Campus: The benches by the fountain. Itā€™s private and itā€™s got a great view. It gives you a place to have some alone time, you know, to gather your thoughts and just relax.
Favorite Spot Off-Campus: Fog and Flame, the new coffee shop on Main Street across from Capitol. Itā€™s a great place to relax and get your work done because itā€™s quiet and never too crowded. It reminds me of that coffee shop from Friends that they all hang out in, Central Perk.
The App I Canā€™t Live Without: Podcast
General Interests: Music and soccer are definitely my main interests. Iā€™ve been playing the drums since I was ten years old. Some friends and I had a band in high school and we played a bunch of venues back in the day. My mom was born in Italy, so soccer has been a huge part of my upbringing since I was little. Iā€™ve pretty much had an interest in it ever since ā€“ so much so, that I actually traveled out of the country two summers ago to see my favorite MLS team play, and occasionally Iā€™ll contribute articles to soccer news websites about current issues in the game.
Role Model: My grandfather, because he taught me how to respect people and how important it is to work hard to get where you want to be in life.
If you could go back in time and change somethingā€¦ would you? Nope, I wouldnā€™t change a thing. I believe everything happens for a reason.

Romantic Resume:

Relationship Status: Single
What do you look for in a girl? First and most importantly, personality! If a girl is bland, I donā€™t even want to waste my time talking to her. Iā€™ve actually recently noticed that Iā€™m really attracted to a girl with a lot of confidence. It shows that youā€™re comfortable in your own skin, which is something I find incredibly sexy.
Biggest turn-off: I guess that kind of goes hand-in-hand with what I just said ā€“ I hate when a girl doubts herself. Automatic turn-off.
Least favorite thing that girls wear: Honestlyā€¦ I think I love everything. Once again, it goes back to the whole confidence thing. If you think you look good in what youā€™re wearing and you donā€™t let anyone tell you different, then who am I to argue? Youā€™re right, it looks awesome.
Least favorite thing that girls do/say: Talk sh*t on each other. I think itā€™s so pointless and stupid. You should worry about yourself and not anyone else.
My first kiss wasā€¦ on a trampoline at my next door neighborā€™s house in fifth or sixth grade, something like that.
Celebrity Crush: Where do I start? Melissa Gorga is definitely number one. I think Iā€™m actually gonna have to say Katy Perry for number two. And, this might come as a shockā€”and Iā€™m kind of embarrassed to admit itā€”but Miley Cyrus has been catching my eye recently! Maybe itā€™s the whole confidence thing yet again, I donā€™t knowā€¦ I canā€™t believe I just admitted that!

Bragging Rights:

Proudest Accomplishment: Landing my internship this past summer with Thingee Digital Marketing. The opportunity that the internship offered is something Iā€™ve been interested in for a long time. After working with the company this summer, the experience helped me realize that this is something I want to do for the rest of my life.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Working at an advertising agency or marketing firm as a Brand Director in the medical marketing field. Hopefully Iā€™ll be married with at least one kid, living in the suburbs and enjoying life with my beautiful family.
3 words to describe yourself: Passionate, driven, light-hearted

Any last words?

ā€œI live by the phrase, ā€˜fortune favors the bold.ā€™ I believe youā€™re in control of your future. Do what you love, love what you do. If something doesnā€™t make you happy, change it. Always have a sense of humor in whatever situation life throws at you. And always find love.ā€
