Lets face it. Any movie that has a shirtless Matthew McConaughey is going to be a hit. How to Lose a Guy in 10 days lays out a very clear (very funny) roadmap of what women should not do in relationships. After all, when girls do something “wrong”, it becomes common knowledge within minutes and the types of girls that turn guys off are widely known. The Clingers. The Drama Queens. The Whiners. The list goes on. Yet, interestingly enough, little is said about what turns off girls. Sure, us females can be pretty complicated at times, but there are some guys out there that we can’t help but avoid…

The Aggressive Caller: This guy just cannot take a hint. Despite your obvious lack of interest, he double (maybe even triple) texts you about your plans for the night. If he ends up excessively calling you, that’s an even bigger red flag. Guys aren’t into that and neither are we.

The Cocky One: This guy thinks he can get any girl he wants and uses his debatable status on the lacrosse team to real in the ladies. Don’t fall for this sly guy’s act because cocky instead of confidant is never attractive.

The Super Mystery: A little mystery is always nice but if you are constantly second guessing things due to your guy’s lack of communication, things can get a little…well…stressful. A relationship should be FUN. No one signed up for an emotional rollercoaster.

The All About the Chase: Similar to the mystery man, a guy who is all about the chase won’t stick around too long. It sucks because its not necessarily our fault since we want things to progress in a relationship. Be weary of this one and try to spot early on if he’s really into it or if he’s just interested in the chase.

The Flaky One: He texts you. You see him at the bar. He ignores you…wait what? This is one of the most confusing types of guys and probably the most annoying. If he is constantly wishy-washy when you two meet up, cut him off. Chances are he really isn’t interested and just wants to keep the option open in case nothing better comes along.

The Back and Fourth: The on-again off-again fling is never a healthy one. Similar to Mr. Flaky, this guy just can’t make up his mind. Make it for him, ladies, and say adios.

The Girlfriend: So he has a girlfriend but won’t stop flirting with you. There are clearly boundaries but how are you supposed to define them when he won’t let you? This guy needs to stick to his own girl for once and stop bothering you. After all…you can’t have your cake and eat it too!

The Cheesy One: “You are prettier every time I see you.” “Your eyes are gorgeous.” This guy pulls out all of the stops to impress you and cheesy one-liners are no exception. Although us gals love the occasional compliment, a guy who over-compliments can sometimes make us feel awkward.
