Have you ever been talking to a guy and then had that feeling hit you… that feeling that screams out, “JUST KISS ME ALREADY!”? Well, if you have, then welcome to the club. 79% of the female population has had this feeling at some point. (Of course I made up that percentage. 84% of all statistics are fabricated). Anyway, this feeling that overwhelms us in these certain frustrating situations is completely normal, and what do most girls do about it? Nothing!
Here’s the deal . . . if we actually want something to happen (a date, kiss, hug, or even a little cuddling), then we need to make the first move. Because, believe it or not, boys are oblivious. No matter how many times you flirt, hint at, or even come right out and say what’s on your mind, boys just don’t get it. As with all things in life, if we want it, we’re going to have to go for it.
Interestingly enough, boys actually like it when the girl makes the first move. We may not realize it, but some boys are scared of rejection. In fact, a very reliable source claims, “I’d rather not go for it, than get rejected!” Another guy friend of mine states, “When a girl makes the first move it shows the girl is either confident or crazy- hopefully confident.”
So, what should we do? If both the boy and girl have been flirting and there appears to be a connection, let’s vow to give the guys a break. By being honest (and maybe even a little aggressive – but not aggressive enough to creep the guy out), we can help both genders achieve mutual satisfaction (because let’s be honest, what guy is going to say no?). Let’s give the guy a pass because he was clearly too oblivious or scared to initiate anything.
We all know the routine ways girls attempt to initiate contact with boys: texting, invitations to Leo’s, a game, or a party, maybe even a conversation discussing how you a bit reserved because you’re afraid of getting hurt. These ideas clearly don’t work for the oblivious boy. The solution: Close your eyes, lean in, and kiss him!
Don’t give up on a guy just because he isn’t making the first move. Some boys (maybe even 99% of the boys) simply are oblivious and don’t see the wonderful girl standing right in front of them!
