As the weather begins to cool down and exercising outside becomes more enjoyable, Her Campus USF has some suggestions to help keep it that way.
1. Rollerblading
If you haven’t rollerbladed since the 90s, it is time to take it up again. Find your old pair of rollerblades and hit the pavement. Wear your headphones and go for a ride the same way you would a run. This old school activity is not only fun, but it will burn calories. Spark People will calculate how many calories you burn based on weight, time spent rollerblading and intensity.
2. Shopping
Visit the Ellenton Premium Outlets for some outdoor shopping that can count as your exercise for the day. A study found that shopping burns around 15,000 calories each year! This is because we walk 180 miles each year to find the perfect purchase while shopping. This is just another excuse to go find that new purse or shoes you desperately need. Plus, Ellenton Premium Outlets and Wiregrass Mall are all outdoors and this weather is beautiful!
3. Paddle boarding
It is starting to cool off, but it is still beautiful weather for the beach. Pick a day, grab your friends and hit the beach for an hour of paddle boarding lessons. This activity is sure to leave your legs burning, but is a lot of fun!
4. Tennis
Even if you aren’t good at tennis, or even know how to play, get cheap rackets and balls and find a court on campus. If you just try to hit the ball back and forth, you will burn tons of calories running after the ball and the unique movements of hitting the ball and jumping will leave your arms and legs toned and sexy! This would be a great way to bond with that guy you’ve been eyeing all semester!
