Name: Kirsten Brown
Major: Chemistry and Computational Science
Have you heard of Her Campus before, if so how? I know that Sameera (a staff-editor)was promoting it last year.
Who is your favorite MU professor? Dr. Garland Crawford is my chemistry research professor, and I don’t think I would love research as much as I do if he wasn’t my advisor. He is very relaxed, comical, and intelligent.
Organizations you’re involved in: I am historian and demo committee advisor for the American Chemical Society, and I am a member of the Sigma Xi and the Phi Eta Sigma honors societies. I work as a Chemistry TA, the Cluster copy editor, and a member of the Admissions Team.
Favorite tradition at MU so far: The bow ties on the Mercer Maniacs are pretty stylish.
There are several athletic events throughout the year, which sport do you most enjoy watching or going to at MU? I love the basketball games. I had never watched basketball before I came to Mercer, and now I understand what I missed out on.
Future goals: After Mercer, I plan to attend graduate school to focus on science research.
