Parent’s weekend is almost here! Time to take advantage of free dinners in the city, maybe some groceries, and of course the company of your loving parents. All the activities that BC has prepared are going to be great—the Pops are a huge parent pleaser and the game is perfect for bonding over a love for the Eagles. But besides the given activities, you still have three days to pack in as much as you can! Here are a few suggestions for things to do while your parents visit the Heights.
Tailgate
Can you say parents in the mods? For those of us 21+-year-old students, parents weekend opens up a whole new level of bonding. I personally cannot wait to see my dad play beer pong and to teach my mom flip cup. Something about parents accepting and embracing the mod culture before the game is very exciting.
North End Dinner
The best Italian food can be found at any restaurant in the area. The north end is a no lose situation. Follow it up with canolis at Mike’s Pastry or Modern Pastry and that is a perfect way to show your parents how great it is here!
Brunch
My favorite meal time ever. What better way to say good-bye to the rents than a delicious brunch before they head out on Sunday? Places in the city like Max Brenner’s are delicious, Coolidge Corner’s Zaftigs can’t be beat, and more local places like Johnny’s in Newton or The Breakfast Club in Allston are great options too.
Harpoon Brewery Tour
This one is 21+ but for seniors with parent’s coming the Harpoon Brewery is a fun, inexpensive experience that is unique to Boston.
Hotel Living
I absolutely plan on taking advantage of the hotel my parents are staying at. A bed that isn’t twin XL? A shower with perfect water pressure? Free lotion? Maybe even room service? Yes please.
