Somehow, only two weeks into senior year, I have managed to completely stress myself out with a way too busy schedule. Â After having stupidly dropped a class sophomore year, I am stuck with an overloaded schedule. Â Not to mention, the fact that as a semi-responsible senior I decided I would get a fall internship. Â Here are some tips to manage your super busy schedule.
Leave yourself extra time for public transportation.
I learned that one the hard way…By checking Transloc and making sure you give yourself enough time for the unreliable green line, you might even be able to get a coffee before work. Also, by ridding your morning of the extra stress, you have already started your day off on a good note.
Schedule out when you have time for homework.
I thought this was a completely OCD thing of me to do, but scheduling out when you’re going to do homework for each class actually helps. Between reading on the T and scheduling yourself some time for your assignments, you will find yourself rushing less to get things done.
Get everything together the night before.
My number one way to manage my schedule is get my bag and lunch together the night before. Not to mention, I even pick out my outfits. By having all my things set out the night before, I can wake up later and get out the door easier.
Make a to do list for your week every Sunday.
I am a clearly a huge fan of organization, but by making a to do list each week, you won’t be surprised by last minute assignments that you have to hand in. Between all these Comm papers, I know I’m going to have to look ahead in the coming weeks to make sure I don’t forget about coming assignments.
Â
Moral of the story: You can’t make yourself less stressed out, but you can help manage it. Now that we’re back into the swing of things, let’s just hope our schedules work themselves out. Now let’s just see if I can actually take advantage of these tips myself.
