Collegiettes are busy. Whether you’re working, taking classes, or interning somewhere, your weekly schedule is going to be crazy. There’s too much to do, and too little time. That’s why making the most of your weekends is an integral part of having a relaxing and fun summer.
Take At Least Two Hours Out of the Weekend For Yourself: After a long week, sometimes it’s nice to just be on your own and relax for a while. Being in a group often forces you to be flexible and do what other people want. While this isn’t a bad thing, after spending several weekends in a row of doing what other’s want, you’re bound to get annoyed. Take a few hours and read a book, get your nails done or watch your favorite show so you have sometime to relax and decompress.
Take a Weekend Away: Whether it’s a trip to an amusement park, or a ride out to a friend’s house on a lake, taking a little weekend trip is a great way to relax and really feel like you’re away. Be sure to try and leave on a Friday afternoon, or if you don’t have work Fridays, leave on a Thursday night to beat the traffic and have as much time away as possible.
Day Trip: If you don’t have a chance to get a whole weekend away, grab some friends and take a drive to a beach, a close by city or even a nearby outlet mall. Although it might not be an exotic trip, it will still be a nice little escape from your otherwise busy days. Plus, it’s always fun to explore new places close to home to break up the monotony.
Sleep: On those weekends when you might not have as many plans, sometimes it’s just nice to have a lazy day and take some time and catch up on sleep. Even though it might feel like wasted time, it will surely leave you refreshed and ready to handle the week ahead.
