Hello collegiettes! I’ve been thinking lately: tall girls always say they wish they were short, and short girls (like myself – 5’3) say they wish they were tall. Same thing goes for the naturally curly/straight hair debacle, and a bunch of other things I’m sure.
This past weekend, I went to the Gap to take advantage of their recent sales and update my business-casual wardrobe for my summer job, which started today. Going for some classic, neutral-colored staples, I decided to try on a pair of “Skinny Minny” Khakis, which were basically dressed-up skinny jeans. I went for my usual size 8, thinking it would probably be comfortable.
You can imagine my surprise when that size was entirely too big. Tried on the next size down, a 6, and realized…nope, still too big. It wasn’t until I tried on the next size down, a 4, that I finally found a winner! Take a look:
It got me thinking how cool it is to be a short girl. Out of the entire “Freshman 15,” I’ve only lost around 10 pounds. However, because of my small frame, 10 pounds is actually significantly noticeable – enough for me to go down 2 whole pant sizes. Even though I don’t think I’ll reach the 15 by May 29th, I think I definitely can mid-way through the summer. As for my size by the time that happens, who knows? I can’t even remember the last time I was a size 4, so I’m embracing my healthier lifestyle and thinking of my size as secondary.
