What was your role in “The Marriage of Bette and Boo” and how did you like it?
Â
I was Matt, the narrator and the son of Bette and Boo. Â It was not an easy role to play because I had to play a lot of different ages and move through time fluidly. Â It was also a challenging role because my character spoke in academic jargon which was hard to memorize and also hard to make funny. Â
Â
What is the play about?
“The Marriage of Bette and Boo” is a story of 30 years of the dysfunctional marriage of Bette and Boo. Â It is told in jumps of times or vignettes. Â

I was in “The Normal Heart” last semester.
Â
What is your strategy to memorize all your lines?
Repetition. Â I repeat the lines over and over for a long period of time. Â I also think of techniques to remember going from one line to the next through images in my head.
