Day of Games is the one of the largest events at Bryant with more than 600 athletes and 500 volunteers. Competitions include – relay races, softball throws, sprint and distance races, and shotput. Â This will be the 33rd consecutive year that the Day of Games has been held at Bryant! Â This event is put on by The Special Olympics Rhode Island organization which is actually located right down the street from Bryant! Â This organization provides 1,600 year-round sports training and athetlic competitions for more than 2,800 athletes and hosting over 40 local, regional, and statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 25 official and demonstration sports. Â This programs put on are focused on giving those with and without itellectual disabilities the ability to compete in Olympic-style games, empower them to move forward, and encourage them that they can do this.
