Spring is officially here, and it is finally time to replace hot drinks with cooler ones. Iced tea is the easiest way to transform a winter drink into a spring-time one. Simply use your favorite teabags that kept you toasty during the winter and use it to make homemade old fashioned iced tea for the spring and summer. Here’s how:
Ingredients:
- 4 teabags of your favorite flavor (I used a mango-passionfruit tea, you can also mix flavors, for example use a greentea and a lemon tea)
- 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Lemon slices (for garnish)
- ½ cup of apple juice (optional)
- Simple syrup (This is made by combining Âľ cups of sugar and 1.5 cups of water. Boil the water and sugar until a thick clear syrup is produced)
- ½ cup of freshly squeezed orange juice (optional)
Steep the tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for 10 minutes. Allow the tea to cool and add lemon juice, orange juice and apple juice as needed. Add the simple syrup to taste. Allow the tea to cool in the refridgerator. Serve with ice and lemon slices for garnish.Â
