After all of the talk and confusion, it turns out that Tom Cruise did not abandon his 7-year-old daughter Suri. Cruise is filing a $50 million defamation suit against In Touch Weekly and Life & Style for the false information. “He talks to her every day, sometimes many times a day,” Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields says. “It’s just the opposite of what they said in the magazine.” The lawyer also says that Tom and Suri are together all the time and he is a very caring father.
Cruise has even hired a body double to protect his daughter’s privacy and security. The bodyguard even comes along with Katie Holmes to pick Suri up from school in Manhattan.
Fields told E! Online that Cruise is, “particularly concerned, with the divorce, that [Suri] knows he is still there for her all the time.”
In the meantime, this past Wednesday Katie Holmes was spotted at the Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden with her agent Adam Schweitzer. Rumors of a romance between the two have surfaced after tabloids reported that she attended the game with a “mystery man.”
Tom Cruise is currently in London filming his upcoming movie while reuniting with Suri for five days. Last week, Cruise sent his private get to NYC to pick up Suri so that she could come to London and spend time with him while he was filming. With their busy schedules, it’s hard for Suri’s parents to create a normal life for her, but both Holmes and Cruise are doing all that they can to create a normal life for the 7-year-old.
