Upcoming Freshman, Miranda Williams wants to do more than attend the University of Georgia.
Ever since the age of three, Williams’ parents took her and older sister, MaryKatelyn, current senior majorette line member to football games at the university.
Williams only had her eyes on the feature twirler who performed during halftime with the Redcoat Band. After 15 years of training, Miranda is prepared for the chance to be the next feature twirler at the university alongside sophomore Nicole Jensen.
The position is highly sought after and competitive amongst baton twirlers throughout the nation. Starting at three years old Williams’ parents enrolled her in gymnastics, dance and baton twirling which all add an extra element of acrobatics and grace to her performances.
The Jesup, Ga. native has many accolades in the field of baton twirling. Williams has been the feature twirler for Wayne County High School for two years and won two national championship titles in addition to numerous state and regional titles. Williams will do a live audition in Sanford Stadium for a panel of judges in March.
