The Best Instagram Accounts From NYFW

There is one week that is always bound to stop New Yorkers, socialites, photographers and fashionistas alike. It is a sacred time for people to commemorate the beauty, the free gifts, and of course the awesome photo ops that make up the beautiful, wonderful, glamorous New York fashion week. Celebrities, fashion designers and fashion-lovers from all around the world gather in anticipation to celebrate this glorious week of sneak peaks into Fall 2013 lines.

So you may ask yourself: What relevance does this have to me if I’m a broke college student? Well, fashion week can only mean one thing: new trends. New York fashion week clearly sets the precedence of the fashion forecast for next fall.

As a college student in Bloomington, Indiana, this past week I felt like I could not have been further away from the beautiful runways and shows in New York City. So what’s a college girl to do?

The easiest and quickest way to get your dose of NYFW is through Instagram. I know that sounds unconventional, but the latest and greatest fashion week updates have been coming from the Instagram accounts of bloggers, magazines and fashion editors.

Blogger and “Man Repeller,” Leandra Medine has been posting pictures of swag bags and runway trends on her Instagram everyday, effortlessly updating all of her followers from broke college students to New York socialites.

I found that the most straightforward source for my fashion week 411 was straight from the Instagram of magazines themselves. Allure Magazine, Seventeen Magazine and Teen Vogue all did an absolutely incredible job of updating their Instagram account during fashion week. By uploading shots directly from the runways as well as from backstage, Instagram made me feel like I had VIP access to all of the shows.

Sadly, all of these fashion-filled festivities are coming to a close, but have no fear, this wonderful week will come again and I’m sure it will be just as much as a hit as next time as it was this week. I can’t wait to see what the next NYFW has in store, but until then, I’ve attached a gallery of my favorite shots from the week to get you excited for next year’s festivities. Stay tuned for updates on London, Paris, and Milan fashion weeks too! What are your favorite Instagram accounts from NYFW? Comment below!
