My head shot up from the pillow with concern as I awoke from a stressful dream. I had dreamt that I kissed my friend’s new man! They are not dating yet, but they hang out and hook up so I classify him as “her man.” Anyway, after her man chased me down and planted one on me, I became so upset that I ran around for the rest of my dream looking for my friend to apologize. So, as I sat in my bed recovering and laughing about what just took place in the wacky world that is my dreams, I decided that my friend would enjoy hearing about how I kissed her new man. I took a little trip down the hallway and explained in vivid detail that I was smooched and chased (emphasis on the fact that I was not chasing…), and all of the details. Well, I was right about the fact that my friend would think it was funny, because she thought it was SO funny that SHE TOLD HER MAN! I think now would be an appropriate time to mention that I know her man and have made out (in real life) with her man’s best friend. I can just picture the whole group of friends laughing at how weird I am. I found out that my friend shared this story with her man, because her man came up to me IN LEOS while I was in line WITH PEOPLE I KNOW and said, “So, I hear I have been running through your dreams.” To which I replied with absolutely nothing, but a hanging jaw. When I finally mustered up some kind of laugh to act like I wasn’t embarrassed, he responded with, “You are a weird girl, funny too, and also… interesting.” He then walked away and left me standing in the pasta line explaining to my friends what the heck just happened.
So friends, do not think that the world is ending when you make eye contact with the guy you hooked up with on Saturday night even though he looks way too hot to be going to class, because the wonderfully awkward moment I just shared with you is only a needle in the haystack of the things that happen to me. If I told you all of the situations I laugh off each day, we would be here for a year. Embrace these situations, keep your head high, and wait until next week when I can make you feel much better by telling you the craziest event of my week.
