Something Yummy for Someone Special

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

Whether single or taken, enjoy Valentine’s Day with these sweet (and some savory) ideas!

For all the breakfast lovers, try these adorable miniatures for any time of day.  Reach perfection by pairing them with a cup of orange juice and a shot of coffee.

1) Add fresh fruit to muffin mix and bake in mini pan for about ten minutes. Use pretty cupcake liners!

2) Mini cinnamon rolls

3) French toast kabobs

4) Fry up 1 inch pancakes. Brush them with maple syrup and connect stacks of three or four using a thick toothpick –decorate with paper hearts. Garnish with fruits and spreads such as jam or whipped cream.

Confused heart? If he has more than one favorite, try a fusion of flavors.

1) For a mix of Southern and Asian, sauté Caramelized Spicy Green Beans.

2) For a hint of home style BBQ, try BBQ Chicken Pizza.

3) For a little heat, bake Jalapeno Mac and Cheese.

Sweet and Strange Treats. Invest in interesting flavors for loved ones who like to try strange foods.

Chocolates to try before you die!

For all the chocolate haters, try these sinfully good fruit desserts.

Strawberry icecream cheesecake

Banana ice cream with tons of flavors

Of course, anything heart shaped. Her Campus has pretty and easy ideas here.

Be cute, and stay warm and cozy this Valentine’s Day by adding these marshmallows to your cocoa.

Single ladies, feel free to stay in those PJs, sip on hot cocoa, and watch some Gerard Butler!

(your welcome)

Homemade candies. Make a personalized box of chocolates. You can also do this with cupcakes filled with classic chocolate candy flavors. I made these last year and we could not stop eating them!

Also my mother’s crock pot candy is easy to make and super addicting. You can experiment with this recipe to make a variety of chocolates. For example, adding dried cranberries or trading German chocolate for dark chocolate. Also fill red or pink mini liners instead of just pouring it on wax paper.

Ingredients

1 16 oz jar roasted unsalted peanuts

1 16 oz jar roasted salted peanuts

1 12 oz package semi sweet chocolate chips

1 bar 4 oz German chocolate, broken into pieces

3 lbs (or 2 24 oz packages) white almond bark, broken into pieces

Directions

Put ingredients into a 4 to 5 quart crock pot in the order listed. Cover and cook on low 3 hours. Do not remove lid. Turn off and allow to cool slightly. Mixture will not be melted but will be soft. Mix thoroughly and drop a teaspoon onto wax paper. Let cool thoroughly. Makes about 150 pieces.

Add chocolate bark to the box.

Support those Girl Scouts. Girl Scout cookies are back and they are the best! Use your man’s favorite to bake him a treat.

If you ever need her, you can find her in front of a computer, in a garden, or at the gym.
