We’ve seen his pieces on the likes of fashion bloggers like Rumi Neely, A-list stars like Zoë Saldaña and (inter)national icons like Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama. And now, by a stroke of luck, we finally get the chance to wear them too—without breaking the bank.
In just a few years, Prabal Gurung has exploded to become one of the most prominent designers on the fashion scene. First launched in 2009, the eponymous label comes to us via a collaboration with Target. The looks incorporate vibrant splashes of sulfur, turquoise, red and green, offset by black or white.
In Target’s promo video for this collection, Gurung says love is at the core of his creations. “One thing I kept on coming back to was the idea of love, whether it’s having it, pining for it, losing it, wanting it. Most of the collection that I do has been inspired by love.” He continues, “If they can feel even a little bit of the love I felt while I was designing this, I’ll consider it a job well done.” Though most pieces will be sold at price points of $50 or less, they look anything but cheap. If the quality matches the aesthetics, then this collection may just fulfill every shopper’s dreams—unbeatable price for enduring quality and beautiful design.
Launching on Feb. 10, the majority of this line can be purchased in certain Target locations, with other pieces (namely shoes) offered exclusively online.

LOOK 1:
What does it for me in this look is the shirt. Look at that beauty. The black makes the floral pop, but the dainty mesh along the shoulders steals the show. The perfect symmetry of the floral reminds me of making symmetrical butterflies/paint blobs as a kid. Remember this?
LOOK 2:
I love the simple silhouette of this T-shirt dress with its slightly flared skirt, the visual complexity of the pattern and the way it’s cut on the torso.
LOOK 3:
This shirtdress is just too rad: the watercolor-like streaks on the front, with the black cuffs, collar and pocket lining, with the plainness of the black back. This shirtdress can easily be worn as a cover-up, for an easy lunch out, to the park, shopping… The possibilities are endless. This shirtdress is just too freaking rad.
