5 Ways to Wear Sweaters During Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

Don’t box up those oversized chunky sweaters this new year. You’ll be wearing spring’s pretty pastels soon enough, but you won’t have to loose the comfort of your favorite cozy sweater this season.

Camouflaging your sweaters with refreshing spring silhouettes will make you feel like you’re shedding layers. If you don’t already have a great basic sweater try an oversized one like this from Target. A sweater in a neutral color will pair best with the upcoming season’s colors. A lighter fabric in a cotton blend instead of a heavy wool blend will serve as a better layering piece as well. Pair your favorite piece with a patterned skater skirt or a light maxi for a feminine feel. A skirt is a great way to dress up your look for that unexpected dinner party or a Sunday brunch. Pairing with a printed skirt adds punch to an otherwise boring sweater, not to mention that a skirt will help hid those extra Christmas cookies!

A skirt with color and a print is ideal for achieving the crisp pop of pastel colors spotted on the runway and in stores. The unique print on this skater skirt adds dimension to any sweater in pretty colors sure to soften up any outfit.

Don’t be shy. Sweaters look fab with studded denim or patterned high waisted shorts. Studded denim is a fashion trend that is not changing with the seasons. It will give any sweater an edgy twist.

Layering your sweater with other tops is a simple way to add color to your wardrobe. For an ultra effortless way to nail springs casual clothes add a light collared chambray button up underneath your sweater.

Pull on a patterned short and tortoise shelled sunglasses and say hello to spring.
