Something not everyone knows about you?

I’m paying for school with a scholarship I won for a short film I made in high school! It was an advertisement for a bill the Democrats are trying to pass in the state legislature. I was on TV and in the Huffington Post when I won, so I sort of had my fifteen minutes of fame. And a senator came to my graduation party, which was kind of cool.

Most appealing personality trait in a girl?

A sense of adventure…or a sense of misadventure, depending on the circumstances.

Biggest turnoff?

Shallowness. I can’t stand the idea of going out with a girl just to find out that she doesn’t have a lot going on inside her head. She needs to have ideas, hopes, and dreams because those are the things that really make someone interesting, not immaculately applied makeup or perfectly matched clothes.

What do guys worry about on the first date?

I personally don’t really stress out over first dates. Second dates, now that’s when you’ve got something to lose. I guess then I’d mostly worry about being real and making sure she’s having a good time. After two or three dates, you’re either comfortable with someone or the ship has already sunk.

Is it old-fashioned for a girl to wait for the guy to make the first move?

It all depends on the chemistry at the moment. If that taboo is the only thing stopping a girl from approaching a guy, that’s old-fashioned.

As of this moment, which is more appealing: a girl who wants a relatively serious relationship or a girl who wants to keep things casual?

If I found a girl worth sticking with, that’s one thing, but it seems foolish to actively seek out a serious relationship. That’s how people make mistakes.

Is it true that girls overanalyze everything?

I wouldn’t know because I’ve never been one!

Ideal winter date?

Well, I think a winter date in the Upper Peninsula is different than it is downstate. But if I’m downstate, I guess if I’m really feeling cheesy I might take her sledding at night. Snowball fight is optional.
