The Four Kinds of Shoes You Need to Rock This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

OMG, shoes…

I’ve chosen some of my top favorite fall shoe styles and designs to help inspire you to get a little outside the box with your shoe choices!

1) Wedges- a perfect way to get a natural looking high.

These are perfect for a dinner date or a sophisticated night out and add a feminine touch to your outfit. You’ll love the feeling of soft suede as well!

For a little more sass, this animal-print, calf hair wedge boot laces up to your ankles.

2) Tell me about it, Stud- a surprise edge to any flat, heel, or boot.

Studded apparel is definitely in for fall, but don’t rule out studs on your shoes!

This pair of studded loafers from Urban Outfitters is much trendier than the basics.

For studded boots, this pair from Lulu’s is sure to add an extra kick of biker chic to jeans and a tee.

Make simple flats into studded beauties.

You won’t get left behind with studs on the back of your heels like this!

3) Menswear Inspired Flats- for a little more man in your life.

At my internship at a fashion magazine this summer, we created articles for the popular fall trend: menswear flats.  These men’s-inspired shoes incorporate feminine touches so that they appeal to women as well.  And they’re a great way to veer off from a traditional ballet flat!

These pretty suede loafers are perfect for class or a casual shopping trip.

The men’s smoking slipper takes this lacy turn as a women’s shoe.

4) Toe Touch- get down, and touch your toes.

Instead of a solid, plain shoe, accentuate the tip of your toes with leather, metal, or an added pop of color.  Perfect for both day and night, depending on the style!

Rhinestones make these basic leather booties really stand out! http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=25176918&parentid=WOMENS_SHOES

These are such elegant flats that you could wear them to dress up almost any outfit. (And they incorporate the menswear loafer…bonus!)

You’ll love the pop of color on the toe (and the heel) as it juxtaposes the rest of the natural-colored pump.

It’s easy to find shoes that incorporate more than one of these trends, so get inspired and start shoe shopping…you know you want to!
