Entertainment Blog: Top 5 Celebrity Halloween Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CMU chapter.

Now that Halloween is over, Facebook is exploding with photos, and we are all secretly making a mental note of out favorite costumes to try next year.  The same thing happens in the world of celebrities, only on a much larger scale.  Here are some of my favorite celebrity Halloween moments ever:

1. Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch as Smurf and Smurfette on The Big Bang Theory

On this year’s Halloween episode, everyone’s favorite nerd couple hit the comic book store costume party in style as classic cartoon characters Smurf and Smurfette.  Get it? Because they’re both really short.

2. Kim Kardashian as Wonder Woman

In 2008, the reality star stunned in a superhero costume trumping all other superhero costumes.  Nothing says strong, sexy, and confident quite like Wonder Woman.

3. Heidi Klum as Cleopatra

The supermodel turned TV host has been an ape, a corpse, an alien robot, and an Indian goddess at her legendary annual Halloween party.  What was left but Cleopatra?  This year, Heidi stunned in the gold ensemble on her first Halloween after her split with Seal.

4. Zac Efron as Reno 911 Cop Lieutenant Jim Dangle

Who doesn’t want to see this guy in short-shorts?  In 2011, the High School Musical star mimicked the flamboyant cop from Reno 911 in short-shorts, an 80’s mustache, and sunglasses.  No one could pull of such a crazy character quite like Zac.

5. Fergie as Toddlers & Tiaras Contestant

When I saw this costume, I laughed out loud in one of my classes (Whoops!).  In 2011, the singer donned a tutu, tiara, sash, and glittery shoes, complete with teddy bear, in parody of the hit TV show Toddlers & Tiaras.  Plus, the bear doubled as a purse!

I am a junior Materials Science and Engineering mjaor at Carnegie Mellon University, and I am also minoring in Professional Writing and Business. I am a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.  I love TV and trying out new beauty products.  I follow E! on Twitter so that I can stay up-to-date on celebrity news.  I'm royal-obsessed, and I love Kate Middleton's style.  I'm kind of a Sephora addict, and I could easily spend hours there.  I also spend way too much time on Pinterest.  Finally, I love hockey and all Pittsburgh sports.
Laura Stiles is a Creative Writing, Professional Writing double major at Carnegie Mellon University who will be graduating in May 2014. In addition to being Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Carnegie Mellon chapter of HerCampus.com, she is Co-Prose Editor of The Oakland Review, Carnegie Mellon’s literary-arts journal, a manuscript reader for Carnegie Mellon University Press, and has copy-edited for Carnegie Mellon’s newspaper, The Tartan. She was also Communications and Arts Management Intern at The Hillman Center for Performing Arts in summer 2012, and is ecstatic to be studying abroad in Sheffield, England in spring 2013. In her free time, she enjoys singing along to music on long car rides, spontaneously kicking off her shoes to explore lakes and creeks, and curling up with a soft blanket and a captivating book. She was also recently pleasantly surprised to discover that she has a taste for sushi.
