Not even the rich and famous were spared in the devastation of Monday’s Hurricane Sandy. Read updates below about how some of our favorite celebrities weathered the superstorm.
The entire New Jersey shore is in shambles according to The Huffington Post, and much of the Seaside Heights boardwalk was destroyed in the Hurricane. The Hollywood Reporter, though, tells us that the house where The Jersey Shore is filmed is still standing, though there are currently no updates on the status of the Shore Store, where the cast members work during their time on the show.
Their house was spared, but the cast is devastated by the damage to their second home. “It’s devastating to see our boardwalk and favorite spots ruined,” Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi told MTV. “My prayers go out to everyone affected by the storm.”
Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio shared similar sentiments: “A huge thank you to all the men and women who have been working around the clock to protect and help everyone, true heroes!”
Meanwhile, in New York, Donnie Wahlberg took several videos of flooding in his apartment building. 8 million people were affected by power outages due to Sandy according to a report by Businessweek, and Wahlberg was one of them. Despite more than a foot of water sloshing around his feet, he remained upbeat. “Awesome neighbors all banding together to help each other!” Wahlberg tweeted. He later added, “Material things are meaningless. Check in with those you know in the storm! Stay safe!!”
