It’s finally Halloween, which is basically code for parties in ridiculous outfits. But what else is there to do in Storrs, CT to ring in a day full of spooky stories, costumes, and well, maybe even trick or treating? Plenty, as it turns out!
The Benton
Not just for gazing at priceless works of art, the Benton has a Halloween twist this week!
1. Really liked that glitter pumpkin idea from last week? Don’t know where to start? Come to the Benton this Friday (10/26) from 10 am to 4 pm for the chance to make (or just buy) your very own glitter pumpkin! They cost 3.99 each and I highly suggest it.
2. But what if glitter just isn’t you thing? Or maybe you don’t have 4 bucks to spare for crafting; don’t worry! The Benton is also hosting a free pumpkin carving party this Saturday (10/27) from 1 to 4pm. This is a great way to hang out with friends, get into the spirit of Halloween, and have an excuse to craft!
SUBOG (The Union)
SUBOG has planned so much for this year’s festivities and I know I plan to take advantage of all the fun going on!
1. Fright Fest, anyone? That’s right, UConn is taking a trip to the Six Flags New England Fright Fest this Saturday (10/27) The trip will leave around 2pm and come back at 10pm. Come join in on the fun of getting spooked by goblins and ghosts! Tickets are 20 dollars for UConn Students and 25 for everyone else. Tickets are available at the Student Union Info Desk. Hurry before tickets run out!
2. Not able to make Fright Fest? Head over to the Union on Halloween itself (10/31) from noon to 9:30pm for some free entertainment! Fire Eaters and Psychics wait to dazzle and foretell your future in the Union! Hungry? Bring back memories with some Trick or Treating, or simply enjoy one of the many available treats. Competitive? Get ready for your chance to shine in the SUBOG Costume Contest! And if you have anything to spare, they’ll also be hosting a canned food drive for the surrounding shelters. Do good and have fun! After all, Halloween only comes once a year.
