As the semester quickly passes and midterms sneak up on us, so does the beautiful season of fall. Fall, autumn, harvest — whatever you call it — this lovely time of the year blesses us with perfect weather and vibrant scenery. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Halloween and some tailgating? These are the top five reasons why fall rocks:
1. Halloween
This is reason number one for a reason- Halloween is one of the most fun holidays! We may be too old to still go trick-or-treating, but dressing up in cute and funny outfits will never get old. Plus, Halloween parties are always a great time. Whether you’re dressing up as a Halloween classic like a witch or a clown, or dressing up with your best friend as Thing 1 and Thing 2, this amusing holiday is sure to spark your creative side as you pick out your outfits and hit the town!
2. Apple Orchards and Pumpkin Patches
Fresh picked apples, apple cider, apple donuts, apple jam- the list goes on! Fresh products from an apple orchard are always a treat. Gather some friends and head out on a gorgeous day to an apple orchard or pumpkin patch to really enjoy the fall season. With vibrant colors of the tree leaves, apple orchards and pumpkin patches are always full of life. Some include corn mazes, actual apple picking, cute gift shops and haunted house for some extra fun. Carving pumpkins is also always a fun way to spend a fall afternoon. Don’t take this season for granted!
3. Who doesn’t love sweater and leggings weather?
This answer is simple: no one. Fall boots, sweaters, hoodies, leggings and jeans are not only super in style, but also insanely comfortable. With perfect temperatures, autumn fashion is cozy, cute and pleasant. Throw in a scarf and add a cup of coffee on colder days as you prepare for the decreasing temperatures as winter approaches. At least you look cute, though!
4. College Football!
There really is nothing like a college football game. Tailgating, barbequing, and hanging out with friends- it can’t get any better than that. Plus add the marching band, cheerleaders, dance teams, and crazy fans and you’re in for a treat. No matter who your team is, throw on those colors and enjoy your Saturday right. Even for those people who don’t enjoy football, Saturdays in a college town are enjoyable for anyone.
5. New Shows!
With our favorite series’ returning and fresh new ones starting, the television this season has us all entertained. Whether you’re a comedian or into drama series’, there’s something for everyone to keep you entertained on those nights when your bed is just too comfy to crawl out of. And don’t worry; your favorites are back and better than ever. Some favorite returning shows include: Breaking Bad, Dexter, American Horror Story, New Girl, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Revenge, and The Office. So whatever your taste may be, renew that Netflix account and sit back and enjoy.
