The Best Fall Date Ideas!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Maryland chapter.

Everyone knows that fall brings pumpkins, apple cider and Halloween, but can it also bring great date ideas? Fall is a time for new beginnings. As the trees shed their leaves, you should shed your inhibitions and start this school year off with a new romance. If you’ve met a new boy or have a new crush, don’t hesitate to suggest you hang out…or in other words…a date! If you’re out of ideas, we have three suggestions that will let you take advantage of the season.

1) Apple/Pumpkin Picking

If you’re the kind of girl to get outside in the daytime for some fresh air and some flirting, then we suggest hitting up an orchard. This gives you an opportunity to explore the trees or pumpkin fields while also getting to know each other. The joint goal to find the perfect picks will immediately give you something to talk about. The best part of this idea? There is no forced eye contact like at a lunch or coffee date. You and your crush can stroll along chatting easily with no forced conversation. Check out a local place in Germantown, called Butler’s Orchard, by clicking here! http://www.butlersorchard.com/

2) Haunted Hayrides

These fright filled nights take the scary movie date idea to another level. If you’re super adventurous and a little bit daring, then a haunted hayride is the best option. Not only is the nighttime date a little more risqué, it also gives you a perfect reason to reach for your date’s hand. While running through woods on a spooky trail, the adrenaline will kick in, so afterwards you’ll feel closer. Not to mention that recapping your experiences will keep you both talking for a while. Feeling brave? Check out a Halloween haunted place in Olney by going to this site: http://screams.org/

3) Nightmare on M Street

For those of you readers who are 21+, this Halloween themed date is perfect for a group setting. Invite you and your friends to attend DC’s Nightmare on M Street. Tell your crush to get his guys together and head downtown to the bars for some costume filled fun. Once you guys are exploring the bar scene, grab your crush and head to the dance floor. Take this opportunity to show off your adorable Halloween costume and woo him with your super hot dance moves. Of course this is limited to those 21 and over, but if you are interested, check out this website for tickets and information: http://www.lindypromo.com/fliers/WebFlier_Nightmare12.jpg

All in all, don’t be shy in the season of shedding inhibitions. Take out that phone and text your crush. If you need some backup, all of these dates work as group dates too! Pack some apple cider and hit up these spots! They’re sure to make you stand out and have fun, all while enjoying the fall and all it has to offer!
