This week’s campus celebrity is Zane Osler, the newest Denisonian Photographer! Not only is he a member of the club soccer team but he speaks fluent Italian, and ladies, he’s single. Zane, a freshman at Denison, was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI. His parents were professors at the University of Michigan. When he was seven years old, he and his family moved to Rome, Italy to live for the year. Zane picked up on the Italian language fast and says that Rome is his favorite city in the world. After his year abroad, Zane moved back to Ann Arbor for a few years until his dad got a job at IIT College of Architecture in Chicago, IL and the Osler family was on the move again.
Since coming to Denison, Zane’s passion for photography has taken off with the Denisonian. Zane says that he first picked up a camera in the eighth grade and has only taken one photography class in his life. “I really believe in self-education,” he says. Besides his stellar photography skills, Zane is also a talented boarder in general (skateboarding, skim boarding, and snowboarding) and he enjoys community service. His favorite community service project was helping inner city Chicago kids with art projects. Three things Zane can’t live without are his cameras, his sneakers, and his family.
In addition to being the Denisonian Photographer and being on the club soccer team, Zane is also an over-night host for a few lucky prospective students. After his adventures at Denison, Zane hopes to move back to Chicago. His dream job? “Something that involves working with people.”
