It’s time to start planning your week of fun for Halloween 2012!
I know it seems a little early, but if you’re an upperclassman at Oswego you know what I’m talking about.
Searching for costumes early makes it a less stressful holiday to worry about. Halloween is usually celebrated a week before and up to the 31st. You’ll begin to see students dressed up in their Halloween wear in no time.
You can go two ways for Halloween: Funny, or typical cute, sassy costumes. For those upperclassmen, they usually are over being the typical bunny or devil and switch to a more different, outgoing look.
Funny Costume ideas: Strive to be something as common as a banana or some strange character you’ve seen in a video game that you could even make semi-cute. Think about characters of a Disney movie or from a cartoon that you used to or are still obsessed with. If you’re tight on money, don’t bother going to those huge warehouses like Spirit. Simply use fabric from around the house or boxes to create a costume. The cheesier you are, the funnier you’ll be. Wal-Mart just received some funny costumes, which are at the most $20.
Popular Costume ideas of 2012: The Dark Knight, President Obama, Governor Romney, Superheroes from the Avengers, or celebrity costumes like Katy Perry or Nicki minaj are always popular.
Whatever you decide, Halloween is always a good time at Oswego. Remember you can always borrow or swap costumes with friends and family. Remember, be safe and plan on getting a designated driver if you’re going to the bars or a Halloween party.
Be excited and festive this month! Go out and decorate your dorm or house, too. The dollar store has cheap, scary and funny decorations to get you in the mood for a Halloween you’ll always remember.
