Each season’s styles whether in clothing or makeup are determined during the semi- annual Fashion Week . Along with changing trends in fashion come new trends in makeup. This season’s runways were all about fierce show-stopping eyes! I scoured several of the runway shows and handpicked the top three eye makeup trends that will have you standing out this semester.
Check out the boldest eye makeup trends below and how to flawlessly pull them off yourself!
Exaggerated Cat-Eyes
Caution: This is not liner for the modest. Dramatic swoops and exaggerated shapes carefully painted on with liquids and gels create the coolest cat-eyes for the fall semester. If you are feeling confident, I suggest going for a Brigitte Bardot cat-eye, which was seen all over the Lanvin runway. It is easier to create this sensual look than you may think! First, draw the outline of the shape you want with black pencil, and then fill it in with black shadow. For a less intense version, a thick stroke of black liquid liner will do the trick.
The Brown Smokey Eye
I am confident that there are several collegiettes out there that that loathe the black smoky-eye. I am here to deliver great news for all of you… makeup artists have officially traded in their black pencils and sultry shadows for softer shades of gold, brown and taupe! To achieve this gorgeous look, trace along the inner eyelash lines with an espresso brown pencil. Then, use a medium size eye brush to sweep a brown shadow along the eyelash line towards to the crease. To make your eyes really pop, tap some gold shadow or cream near your eyebrows for a luminous look.
Jewel Toned Lids
One of the season’s biggest trends is adding jewel tones to anything, including your eyelids!
Emerald greens and purple metallic hues blend nicely together and act as a dynamic duo on your lids. To achieve this look, first apply an emerald green powder near your eyelashes, working towards the crease of your lid. Next, take your favorite purple hue and lightly dab the shadow on the corner of your lids working towards the outside of your eye. Finish the look off with plenty of black mascara and you are ready for a night out!
