Tequila is the name of a city in Mexico where the alcohol was first produced 500 years ago.
Is this real?
Real tequila can come only from the State of Jalisco in Mexico.
This smells wormy
The “Tequila worm” myth is truly a myth! Worms were never really used inside tequila bottles to verify the “proof” or authenticity of the liquid inside a tequila bottle. Take my advice and avoid the tequila worm.
Down to the ingredients
In order for a spirit to be called Tequila it must contain at least 51% blue agave (Blue agave is a plant native to Mexico).
Alcohol kills germs?
The 1918 flu epidemic led to a tequila boom in Mexico as doctors advised ailing patients to drink tequila, lime,
and salt as a remedy. Who needs sprite and crackers? Just go the tequila route next time you get the flu.
One of the most costly drinks
The Guinness World Record for the most expensive bottle of tequila ever sold was the Platinum & White Gold Tequila bottle, which went to a private collector in 2006 for a whopping $225,000.
Drink up
The world record holder for the largest margarita is Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville in Orlando, FL. The colossal cocktail held 5,861 gallons of blended booze. Spring break in Orlando anyone?
