Beep-beep-beep-beep!
Your alarm wakes you from your dream about Ryan Gosling and you roll out of bed to start your day. After getting ready, you rush down stairs and grab a bowel of cereal before heading to class. Bland, boring cereal.Â
Ever want something different for breakfast but feel like you don’t have the time? Here are five breakfast recipes that will blow your taste buds and keep you on time in the morning.
1. Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 2 Bananas, slightly overripe
- 1 tbsp. creamy peanut butter (whatever type you like)*
- 1 tbsp. unsweetened coco powder*
Directions: Peel the bananas, slice them up, and place in the freezer until they are frozen solid. Put the frozen slices in a blender or food processor and pulse. First they will start to resemble gravel, but keep going, they will soon turn into a frozen mush. After a few minutes of stopping to scrape the sides down, the banana begins to blend into a creamy texture. When the bananas look like whipped ice cream, add the peanut butter and cocoa powder and process until they are completely combined. Place it back in the freezer for morning, or if you are hungry eat it! I find it’s pretty hard when I scoop it immediately after removing it from the freezer. Just give it a minute or two to soften up. This recipe is also great for those who are lactose intolerant (like me) and cant eat ice cream.

4. Scrabbled Turkey Egg Wrap
Ingredients:
- 1 whole wheat tortilla wrap
- 2 eggs or 1/3-cup egg whites
- 1 slice of lunch meat
- A sprinkle of cheese*
- Handful of spinach*
- A squirt of ketchup*
- A spray of Pam
Directions: Crack two eggs, or pour egg whites, into bowl and mix together until they have become scrabbled. Tear up the slice of turkey into small pieces and mix into the eggs. Once you have heated a pan on the stove, spray it with pam so the egg doesn’t stick, add the mixture, and scramble with a heat safe spatula until cooked. With a napkin or plate underneath the wrap, add the cooked scrambled eggs down the center. This is where you can add all the topping you want to personalize your meal. I personally like adding spinach, ketchup, and cheese. Once you have placed your topping over the eggs, its time to fold the wrap. I fold my wrap like a burrito, I take the top and bottom flap and fold it over the egg and then take the other two flaps and wrap from one side to another. You can wrap it into a napkin and take it to go or eat it at home!
These recipes are surely going to take your taste buds to a whole different layer of deliciousness once you try them. The good thing about these recipes is that you can change the stared (*) ingredients to whatever you want. You can personalize your meal to fit whatever health needs and stomach wants you have!
