With summer winding down and coming to a close, we find ourselves frantically going through our summer bucket list and trying to cross off all the adventures we intended to embark on before we move back into Berkeley and the harsh realities of midterms and papers.
If spending a night out in the city trying new experiences with your friends was on your to-do list, Second Glass’s Wine Riot has got you covered. Wine Riot is a one of a kind event that creates a non-intimidating social setting to meet with wine experts and build your knowledge of wines from around the world. The first Wine Riot event took place in Boston, MA in 2008 and has since spread to cities such as Washington D.C., Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco!
Wine Riot attendees will sample from a selection of 300 wines from across the world and be able to participate in a 20-minute “crash course” in wine tasting. The event will provide music by DJ Andie Cassette, custom designed temporary tattoos by the Miss Holly Gordon, a pop-up photo booth by Betabrand, and food pairings from local San Francisco food trucks for purchase.
Get more details on how to riot here and don’t forget to download the Second Glass mobile app! The mobile app lists information about each wine featured at the event and lets you track and rate each wine that you try. Also use the app to find out where your favorite wines can be purchased!Â
Wine Riot will be opening in San Francisco at the Concourse Exhibition Center on Friday, August 3 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. Tickets to opening night are being sold for $60 per person. If you cannot make Friday, you can grab tickets for one of the two Wine Riots being offered on Saturday, August 4 from 1 p.m.- 5p.m. or 7 p.m. – 11p.m. for $50 per person.
Tickets not in your price range? You can sign up to volunteer at a Wine Riot to earn yourself a FREE ticket!Â
Wine Riot combines an ample selection of exciting wines with social interaction to offer a one of a kind experience enjoyable to all.
