Once again, we’ve found ourselves at the end of another year at Tulane. We all know what that means…it’s time for the annual “Study for my finals” vs. “Go to Jazz Fest” dilemma. Well, as any Tulane student has learned by now, it’s definitely possible (and recommended) to do both! Last weekend’s lineup did not disappoint: headliners included Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The Beach Boys 50th Anniversay tour, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. However, Jazz Fest is about so much more than just big name bands. This
festival is full of NOLA stylefood and locally made artwork. Local musicians also have the opportunity to take the stage: photographed here, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux & The Golden Eagles, a group of Mardi Gras Indians, showed their audience the true meaning of New Orleans Jazz. If you’re lucky enough to be heading down to the fairgrounds next weekend be sure to check out Jimmy Buffett, Florence + the Machine, Zac Brown Band, the Eagles, and be prepared to see the true culture of New Orleans, Louisiana!Â
