Finals Prep and the Coffee Craze

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OK State chapter.

Spring Break is over and now the hard part comes…finals prep. No one likes to stay up all night studying, but we have to if we plan on passing our last semester. To make your late night studying a little less painful, Her Campus went all over Stillwater to find the best coffee places to give you an extra boost during your trying times.

The first stop that I went to was Aspen coffee. It’s located downtown at 111 W. 7th. It was a nice little coffee shop that was comfy. It wasn’t too busy when I went, but I was told by one of the customers that it can get super hectic during times.  There are three locations in Stillwater.  The other two are located at 5615 West 6th Avenue
 and 1908 North Perkins Road

I asked the same customer, Matt, why he chose Aspen as the place he drank coffee and he stated, “The coffee’s good, and the service is fast, therefore I keep spending my money. A+B=C, haha.”  It made perfect sense to me. The hours of operation are: Monday-Sunday, 7:30-11:00pm. You can grab a quick coffee to go, or you can stay to study. Either way, you’ll enjoy your coffee.

The next place I visited was, of course, Starbucks. When I went, it was packed. Although the line was long on the inside and the drive thru, I received my double chocolate frappuccino fairly quick. The Starbucks in Stillwater that I went to is located on 300 E Hall Of Fame Ave. Their hours of operation are: Monday-Sunday, 6:00am-11:00pm.

I asked my friend, who is also addicted of Starbucks, why she picks Starbucks for her coffee stop and she said, “They have variety. I feel like any and everything that I want for coffee, they have.” Although they are always busy, they have free WiFi, so it could be a great study group location.

Other great local coffee stops:
-Daily Grind. 230 S Knoblock St
-The Coffee House. 3rd and Knoblock
– Hastings, 316 North Main Street
