Monday, March 26th 2012, marked the first day of week one of the third annual So Fit Wellness Challenge for Suffolk University. If you are like me and registered to take part in the So Fit Wellness Challenge, whether in a group of up to six people or as an individual, then Monday afternoon you received an email enlisting an overview of the rules and guidelines for “The Challenge.”
To take part in “The Challenge” you need to be honest with yourself and others, and not try to kid anyone when dealing with the point system every week. Monday of next week starts the surveys to submit points. This is where you need to be morally upright, because you need to submit the true amount of points you accrued throughout the week from eating healthy, working out, or attending wellness events. So Fit Wellness demands that the surveys are completed every Monday by noon.
Other than their rules, the email also offered many ways to help you stay fit and on top of your game throughout the challenge. They released a “Recipe of the Week” that told you how to make your own Crispy White Pizza! They put together a list of wellness events that are on campus throughout the week, with a thorough description of each. These aids will allow you to pick up new habits, and learn more about healthy activities such as healthy eating, meditation, and self-reflection. Also on this e-mail is the “Workout of the Week,” which links you to a short work out description. Featured this week is 10-minute cardio kickboxing that you can do in the comfort of your office, bedroom or living room, alone or with friends.
Cheers to health and wellness, and good luck to everyone who is participating in this enduring challenge!
