Funny, charming, and  he “actually wants to help people”! Max Denker (’12) proves super crush-worthy in this week’s Campus Cutie!

Name: Max Denker
Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Major: Business & Enterprise Management
Relationship status: Taken
Campus Involvement:Sigma Nu Fraternity, PREPARE Executive Member

HC (HerCampus): So being a senior, what are your plans for next year?
MD (Max Denker):That is a scary question. I’m interviewing and applying for jobs right now. I’m trying to make a difference in the world (laughs).

HC:What’s your dream job? Like, if you can do anything after you graduate, what would it be?
MD:Party the rest of my life…get paid to be a college student…(laughs). I’m actually interviewing for consultant jobs in Health Care. I’m not trying to be corny but I actually want to make a difference in peoples’ lives, but not by being a doctor. I want to help medical device companies create new products to make Health Care better.

HC:Where are you planning on finding a job?
MD:DC. Atlanta would be pretty awesome though. I just went there for an interview recently.

HC: What do you think you will miss the most about Wake?
MD: You (laughs). I think being able to hang out with my friends whenever I want all of the time. Also, not having a work schedule to go by. I’ve had internships before and the work schedule just sucks.

HC: Okay, lets change the depressing subject of graduation. What is something that most people don’t know about you?
MD: I’m a pretty open guy; so, I tell people anything they need to know. There’s probably a reason they don’t know something about me if they don’t know it.

HC: Fair enough. Do you have any nicknames?
MD: Oh man, I’ve had some good ones. There’s “Denk,” “The Nuggin’,” “Broseidon king of the Brocean…”

HC:(laughing) Who called you that one?
MD:Probably myself. Oh, also “Stud-muffin” was one in high school.

HC:Care to expand on that one?
MD:There was this one girl who was crushing on me and was flirting and joking calling me “Stud-muffin.” It stuck with some people…but I didn’t mind it.

HC: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
MD: I have a few, but people chewing gum too loudly, especially when I am studying. What’s yours?

HC:Definitely when people walk too slow.
MD:(laughing) I was going to say that one but I didn’t want to sound like a jerk!

HC: No, I think it’s a pretty common one! So, what is the most embarrassing moment you’ve ever had?
MD: Well, when I was in Madrid [studying abroad], there was this girl I really liked and I was about to ask her on a first date. I wrote down a lot of topics to talk about at dinner so there would be no awkward silence…

HC:Topics like what?
MD:I was planning on asking her things about herself. But then, I guess I forgot to exit out of the document and one of my buddies found it when he was using my computer later. He shared it with everyone in the house.

HC:(laughing) Oh my gosh, that’s so awful!
MD:I was just trying to be prepared!

HC: Okay so on the topic of girls, when was your first kiss?
MD: People laugh when I say this, but it was in kindergarten. We were sitting after school on the swings and she turned and just grabbed me.

HC:How did you react to this?
MD:I kissed her back.

HC: Aw, that’s pretty young. So, what is the craziest thing you’ve done to get a girl’s attention?
MD: I wanted to ask this girl to prom so I cut up letters spelling out “prom” and put each letter on a rose. I had each rose waiting for her at her desk for each of her classes. I was holding the final rose at her last class.

HC: Wow, that sounds like a lot of effort! So, what’s your biggest turn-on when you meet a girl?
MD: If she can flirt back with me.

HC: And turn-off?
MD: If she’s mean to other people

HC: Do you have a celebrity crush?
MD: Oh yeah, a bunch: Jessica Alba, Jennifer Anniston, and Sloan from Entourage.

HC: Okay, back to the future questions. In 10 years from now, where do you see yourself?
MD: I’ll be looking to get married, have a job that I actually like, and have time to do fun things, but have worked hard enough in the past so that I can enjoy life.
