Springtime is upon us … finally! When it comes to spring fever (and senioritis), a few things come to mind: sunshine, afternoons on the Quad, the Shorty’s patio … so why not skip out on required reading and bust out those books you’ve been meaning to read since freshman year? Grab a blanket and spot outside, and delve into that book you didn’t get around to reading while at the beach during spring break.
Look at spring as mini-vacation time! Time to make a dent in your Barnes & Noble wish list and finish The Hunger Games series before the movie comes out. Don’t know what you wanna read? Check out our must-reads below!
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
If you’re like me and you still haven’t read all about Katniss Everdeen and the futuristic nation of Panem, take advantage of your down time to catch up on the trilogy. The movie’s coming out soon, and who would pass up seeing Liam Hemsworth on the big screen?
The Kissing Tree by Prudence Bice
Step back, Romeo and Juliet. There is a new romantic couple in town, and their story will melt your heart and remind you of why you refuse to settle for a frat boy. Set in the American Wild West, childhood friends/sweethearts Georgiana and Ridge are reunited five years after “Georgie” steals a kiss from Ridge under the Kissing Tree in the middle of town.

Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James
What girl doesn’t love Pride and Prejudice? And aren’t we all a little curious to find out what happens after Elizabeth and Darcy finally get together? Well, here’s your answer! On the eve of an annual autumn ball, tragedy strikes Pemberley: Wickham has been murdered! Death Comes to Pemberley is an intriguing twist on a beloved classic.
Bossypants by Tina Fey
You may know her as Liz Lemon. You may know her as Sarah Palin. You may know her as Ms. Norbury. She has won our hearts with her out-of-the-box comedy and side-splitting impressions, but now she reveals her true self in her autobiography, Bossypants. This is not your typical celebrity tell-all. We wouldn’t expect “traditional” from Tina Fey, and she certainly doesn’t disappoint.
I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
They don’t call them “chick-lit” or “beach reads” for nothing. If you’re the kind of girl who likes to get lost in a book while lounging by the pool, Kinsella’s latest novel is for you: After losing her engagement ring, Poppy Wyatt begins a frantic search with the help of a handsome stranger, Sam Roxton. It’s girly, it’s romantic, it’s funny, and it’s reader-friendly.
