As Boulder was caught up in all the “March Madness” these past couple of weeks, CU Junior, Lauren Lanier, is immersed in the sports mayhem all year long. Ms. Lanier has worked for the Sports Information Department at CU for the past two years covering everything from football and basketball to soccer and skiing. Lauren found her talent early as an executive producer of a daily student produced news program at her Dallas high school. She has continued on the same track and is currently studying Broadcast News in the Journalism school here at CU. One can find her post game interviews and frequent athletic news posts on the cu athletic site.
Not only does Lauren’s face appear in the local media, but national as well. Last year, Lanier was selected as the ESPNU Campus Connection correspondent. She covers all of the major sporting and campus events that are then aired on ESPNU’s “Palmer and Pollack” show. You may have caught Lauren on college sports network this past week as she covered CU’s win over California and advancement in the NCAA tournament.
In the home stretch of her Junior year, Lauren’s future is looking brighter than ever. Over Spring Break, she is planned to interview with Fox Sports Southwest for a Summer internship. She has an undeniable gift, and we all wish her the best on her future endeavors. Keep an eye out for this CU celeb, as you may find her sooner than you think smiling at you through the small screen!
