Since when did you know you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Â
It seems like forever now. I was in eighth grade, I think… 13 years old – Â I made the mistake of telling my grandmother that I wouldnât be going to college. Because I loved music so much, my plan was just to make a little money being a DJ. I think I told her I would buy all the Dunkaroos in the grocery store with the cash. And we see how that turned out Stetson.

Who are some people in the music industry you admire? Any favorite songs to rap to?
Â
First two without question – J. Cole and Lupe Fiarecor. Alot of my inspiration comes from their recorda. I feel like Lu wrote LASERS for me because it encompasses so much of me and what I like to do with my music. Not only do I admire them as MC’s and as music geniuses, I also admire those two as men.  If you hear Childish Gambino and you still donât admire  him – in my opinion, your music taste is flawed.  Earl Sweatshirt, probably the only OFWGKTA member that I respect. Other new guys: Big K.R.I.T., Yelawolf, Kendrick Lamar. As for the older heads: âYe and Jay, Big Boi, MF DOOM.  Oh, and good luck stopping me from rapping the entire song when âThrough the Wireâ gets played… I won’t quit.

What inspires you when writing lyrics? Describe your style
Â
My style is⊠intricate. I used to have problems finding a way to impress audiences when everything about the audio quality sucked. I recorded and mixed my first mixtape in my garage and the second one in my room at SigEp, and the bad quality was really prominent. Iâve come a long way now, and I write my rhymes intricately because a hater canât really say anything when his jaw is dropped all the way down to the floor.

Tell us a little bit about your recent signing with CapeWave Records? What do you hope to accomplish with them in the future?
Â
The whole thing was a hundred percent unexpected. I was getting ready to release my second mixtape in a couple days, thinking to myself â these lyrics are good. I had been looking around for independent labels in Orlando to send a copy to in hopes of finally catching the dream, you know? And the whole time unbeknownst to me, CapeWave had been scouting me out. I mean, I had been waiting so long,  to find an independent label I liked and CapeWave gave it to me. I hope to accomplish great things with them.Iâll put it plainly â I donât want to work the job that a Stetson Degree is supposed to get me one day. Youâll see me doing something else. No, like really⊠Youâll see me.
Â
Rapping is commonly seen as being “hard”…. What brings out your soft side?
Â
Musically itâs all about the vibe of an instrumental and the depth of the subject matter Iâd be bringing. Personally? Puppies and Beyonce. But you didnât hear that from me.
Â
Have you ever written a song about a women?
I wonât lie and say Iâve never channeled emotion from my life into a song, but for a long time now Iâve had this policy I hold myself to when it comes to women and my music. I donât really mix the two. Youâll never hear your name in a song, for better or for worse. Thatâs just one of my rules.Â
What do you look for in girls?
I like girls who dress up, but can still kill it in sweats. I look for confidence in a woman⊠Ha. And you gotta have extra meal swipes âcause I run out on Tuesday every week like clockwork.
Â
Â
What do you think of women in the music industry?
Â
Iâve got two of the most valuable women in the music industry running CapeWave Records taking care of my career.Â
