“Fresh feminine styling and vintage inspired ditsy prints lead the way; think floral silk dresses, ankle grazing cigarette pants and printed shirts.” ASOS
I’m like a magpie when it comes to pretty, girly things (my room at Uni looks like Cath Kidston exploded in it) and my make-up bag is no exception. From the feminine, vintage style packaging to the gorgeous array of colours and products, having Paul & Joe products in your make-up bag will make you feel like a decadent Parisian mademoiselle. Even the skincare range which includes luxuries such as the Refreshing Skin Toner and the Creamy Facial Foam have delicate floral designs on the packaging and come in pretty vintage bottles any French beauty would be glad to have on her dressing table. The bright lipsticks, candy-coloured nail polishes and frosted foundation bottles come with beautiful pastel coloured lids and floral designs, but my favourites are the compact-style eye pallets and cheek colours. The cute coloured cases feature art-deco style designs that wouldn’t look out of place in the 1920’s, and the gorgeous spectrum of subtle, flattering colours will suit most skin tones.
Each season, Paul & Joe bring out a new limited edition cosmetics collection featuring prints and designs inspired by that season’s fashion line, called ‘Collection Sparkles’. Past products included feather and swan prints, a Japanese style Koi carp print (I snapped up the pearlescent-turquoise bronzer compact) and the paisley print ‘Parasol’ collection.
The most recent edition to ‘Collection Sparkles’ is a playful collection inspired by cats to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Paul & Joe Beauté, created by Paul & Joe founder, Sophie Albou. Think lipsticks imprinted with tiny cat paws, blusher sticks with cute cat designs and eye-shadows in muted greens, browns and pinks with intricate feline prints and bright floral packaging.
As for me, I’ll be getting my hands on the gorgeous limited edition nail polish (featuring moisturising and protecting orange flower water and pearl) in ‘Kitten Claws’, a pearly-lilac colour that fits perfectly with this season’s trend for soft pastel colours.
Best of all, Paul & Joe products (including the new ‘Meow’ collection) are available to buy from the beauty haven that is ASOS, which means a cheeky 10% student discount!
