Whether you’re in class, at the office, or on a date, you want to look and feel your absolute best.  But through the course of the day, your hair and skin can look oily and your breath become less than fresh.  Fear not!  I have the beauty essentials for every purse that will remedy whatever unglamorous moment you are experiencing.

1. Dry Shampoo.
If your soft and lustrous locks are becoming oily as the day ticks on, you may want to invest in a dry shampoo.  Dry shampoos soak up excess oil and dirt in your hair. You apply it just like hairspray, so it is super easy to use.  The best part is that you can now find them in travel sizes! Throw one of these in your bag for the mid-day touch-up or quick fix after a long night out!
Try Oscar Blandi “Pronto Dry Shampoo To Go”. $11; Ulta.  It’s compact enough that it won’t weigh down your purse or take up much space.  This dry shampoo is made with tea tree oil to nourish your scalp and has a lemon verbena scent.  It is also free of parabens, sulfates, and other harmful ingredients.

2. Mint-infused lip stain.

After an unexpected night at your significant other’s, the last thing you want is to look (and smell) less than glamorous when you wake up.  Toss a mint-infused lip stain in your bag; it will add a pop of color to your lips and will make your not-so-sexy morning breath seem minty-fresh.
Try Tart “LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint”.  $24; Sephora.  This is one of my favorite products.  This lip tint was named one of Redbook’s Most Valuable Products.  It is peppermint infused and packed with moisturizing coconut oil and vitamins, so it won’t dry out your lips like other stains.  If you are looking a little pale and washed out, this stain is also great as an instant blush.  Dab a little on your cheeks for instant color.  Because it’s made without harsh chemicals, it won’t clog your pores like many other products.  A little goes a long way with this product, so it is absolutely worth the investment.

3. Oil Absorbing Sheets.
While we all want a natural glow, oily skin is not cute.  If your skin becomes more and more oily as the day goes on, you may want to use an oil-absorbing sheet.
Try Clean and Clear “Oil Absorbing Sheets”.  For about $5 at your local drugstore you can get a pack of 50 sheets.  You simply blot one of these sheets on the oil-prone areas of your face, much like press powder.  It will absorb all that oil without smearing or smudging your makeup.  These are perfect when you are on-the-go and don’t have time to wash your face or touch up your makeup.

4. Scented Anti-Perspirant.
Picture this:  You are on a first date with a super attractive guy.  You are so nervous that you begin to sweat like you just ran a marathon. Gross, right?  Stash a small, scented deodorant in your purse for times like this when you need a little extra help.
Try Fresh “Sugar Roll-On Deodorant Anti-Perspirant.  $18; Sephora.  Like most deodorants and anti-perspirants, this product prevents that unwanted perspiration and provides long-lasting odor control.   It’s roll-on applicator makes it user friendly, but it get’s even better.  This deodorant doubles as a perfume!  It’s sugary-scent will make you smell irresistibly sweet, especially in those times of need.

We all experience those unglamorous moments and times when we need a quick fix.  Experiment with some of these products to find what works best for you.  These beauty essentials won’t take up much space in your purse, but will ensure that you look perfect all day (and all night) long!
