As crazy as it sounds, not every person goes to the gym to work out. Not everyone thinks the idea of getting sweaty with a bunch of strangers is their idea of a great night. I personally think it takes some courage to step into a gym wearing your baggiest clothes and no make-up. But the goal behind working outâtrying to be fit and healthyâshouldnât be lost because youâre self-conscious. Iâm not trying to convince you to overcome your fear, because itâs much harder to say than do. Iâm saying that you need to work around it in your own way. But many of you may not be going to the gym, not because youâre self-conscious of the way youâll look, but you may just not have the time. So here are the top three workouts to do at home, with the same results you can get at the gym.
Â
1.     YouTube Yoga
One day, my best friend told me that she was doing yoga. I didnât think much of it until she mentioned that she was doing it through YouTube. With the UCF gym, you have the opportunity to sign up for a lot of exercise classes. Unfortunately, they tend to fill up fast. So instead of wasting time and effort trying to get into the class, make your own. Grab a yoga mat and YouTube âyoga class or workout.â You can do this in your room for 20 minutes before class or before you go to bed. You will have your very own yoga session thatâs convenient for you!
2.     Kitchen Weights
Who needs weights when you have a kitchen full of heavy cans? If youâre ever in the mood to do some upper arm work, then step into your kitchen â you may be surprised by what you find. Cans of various foods can get pretty heavy, and theyâre great for those just starting to work out! You wonât strain yourself too much, but your body will start to get the feel of lifting weights. So whenever you find yourself in a break during your day, grab a snack and some canned beans.
Â
3.     Just Dance
If youâve never played this then you probably wont believe me when I say this is one intense workout. After my first dance session with my friends, I was gasping for water. Now not everyone may have a Wii in their home, but I do think it can be a great investment when it comes to exercise. There are more and more games being developed everyday, and they all seem to give you some kind of exercise. And itâs actually fun (this coming from the girl who hasnât been to the gym in about a year). So break open the piggy bank or ask for an early birthday present, because this will definitely burn some calories!
