There are about 100 days left until graduation. As the second semester of my senior year is starting up, I’m beginning to realize that there are so many things that I failed to do, didn’t explore, and could have participated in more. Berkeley is an amazing campus and I know that once I’m gone and not a part of it anymore, I’m going to miss it like crazy. There is no better opportunity than now for me and other seniors alike, to make our bucket lists and start crossing stuff off. Below is my senior bucket list. I encourage you all to add to mine and join me in finishing each and every last item on there.
In no particular order, here they are:
Try all the top rated restaurants in the area
Basically if the restaurant has a rating of 4 stars or more, I want to try it. Berkeley is a great city for good, diverse food. From Indian to Brazilian and everything in between, you can find it all in Berkeley. There are very few places aside from here that offer so much at such low prices. And since it’s hard to tell when we’ll be back in Berkeley, now is the time to take advantage of it.
Go to the top of the Campanile
Personally I consider the Campanile to be one of Cal’s greatest symbols. Its enormous size and the beautiful songs from the bell tower are constant reminders of the great University we’re a part of. The Campanile is also a great place to go to get amazing views of the bay. The beautiful view you will see is something you will only get from the Campanile. After we move on from Berkeley, it’s a view we will never get to see anywhere else.
Hike to the big C
This historic cement letter is another place for breathtaking views of the bay and some good exercise. The hike is not physically demanding and getting to the C shouldn’t take too much time. If you’re graduating in May it’s something I strongly suggest you do. Try going to the Big C right before sunset to get the best picturesque scene. Also before you hike up, look up the story of the C to learn about one of Cal’s traditions.

Attend spring sporting events
Our sports have been doing phenomenally recently—slightly better than the ones in the fall semester. For example our Men’s Basketball team has won all but one of their home games and our Rugby team won the National Championship last year. Why not show your Cal spirit and attend a few? It is such a great feeling to cheer on our athletes to victory and this might be our last chance to do it.
Finally attend office hours
This might be something most of you have done, but this year it’s something I really slacked on. It is easy to forget what amazing professors we have here at Cal. But we have to remember that we are attending the number one public university in the world (woop!!!). Why not take full advantage of all the opportunities we have to learn and attend our professor’s office hours? They love to teach and they would love to know that we appreciate their knowledge and willingness to share it with us.
Attend a Performance at Zellerbach
Zellerbach hosts some amazing performers every month. From ballets to special speakers, they have something for everyone. Seeing a performance here is a must before graduation, especially since students get half off on tickets for every performance.
