As girlfriends we really have it hard on the present-buying stakes. It’s easy for a boy to purchase a beautiful piece of jewellery or to buy you a bunch of flowers and you’ll smile, genuinely be content and he’ll seem the best boyfriend in the world. But when it comes to having to buy him a present it isn’t so simple, so to make your life a little easier I’ve put together a list of thoughtful presents for the boyfriend who has everything.
1) Eat Out
We all know that boys love their food so why not go for a country walk and find a nice pub for lunch. The Nobody Inn does a great lunch at a reasonable price and there’s nothing more romantic than strolling through the beautiful Devon countryside hand in hand. If you want to push the boat out they have some great deals on one night stays including dinner. Or if you’re thinking a romantic dinner would be more suitable, why not head to Rendezvous (also known as Wine Bar 10). Situated in Southernhay (behind the Cathedral) it serves amazing food and offers a very romantic atmosphere. Why not call ahead and arrange for some ready chilled champagne for an extra special present?

2) Photos
Nothing says it better than photos of you and your loved one. How about choosing a special photo of you both and framing it, Paper Chase does some very simple frames perfect for a boy. Alternatively if your one of the more creative amongst us, why not create a photo book, many websites offer this service, I recommend Photobox. Photos of him with his mates as well as you and him will show that you care about more than just his relationship with you.

3) Tickets
For the sporty boyfriend, tickets to see his favourite team play can never fail – just make sure you get the right team! (Always awkward when you buy football tickets for a rugby player!) Don’t worry if sport’s not your man’s choice; tickets to his favourite band or comedian will work just as well. An added bonus of this idea is that you get to spend the day together and it really shows you listen to him when he ranted on about his favourite rugby team.
4) Magazine subscription
Magazine subscriptions make thoughtful and personal gifts, and there’s an endless choice! From general interest to specific hobbies, they make great value gifts that will be appreciated throughout the year. (Her Campus suggests thinking along the lines of ‘Esquire’, ‘Intelligent Life’ or ‘Men’s Fitness’ rather than ‘Nuts’…)

5) Something special
If you want to get him something a little bit pricier then consider something like a hipflask. Aspinal do some beautiful ones which you can get engraved, this is a really great idea for a more special birthday like a 21st. Also consider cufflinks, the boy’s equivalent of jewellery! A word of caution here though make sure you keep them simple – cheesy jokey cufflinks are not a great idea unless they are completely appropriate for your man. So there you have it, when thinking of presents for these lucky guys just remember that as cringeworthy as it sounds, it’s most definitely the thought that counts!
