Bar Culture Ana Roll

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

It’s between 12 and 2 am. The night is still young.

Some of you may be mingling at The Palms while others are bound for The Boot. No matter where you are, you’re likely to see a very similar scene in both places. Both venues provide boys and girls alike with an endless supply of dance partners…whether they are animate or inanimate depends on how many drinks deep you are. The Palms provides us with speakers and poles…the perfect stage for putting on the show. The Boot has columns throughout the bar, a perfect location for those of us to seek stability when our feet, and our tolerance, are giving out. Whether you choose a column, or a nice young gentleman is entirely up to you. The key is how you go about doing it.

Some of us are the type of people that enter the bar and run to the first person (or thing) we see. Others stand around with their friends and wait for someone to approach. Either way, there are several things to remember. While you may be in the zone on the dance floor, everyone around you can see what you’re doing. Now is not the time for you to explore the anatomy of your partner or pretend you are alone in your dorm room. Keep it classy out there. If you’re really feeling your partner, perhaps you should escort them back home and get to knowthem a little better. Hands where we can see them everyone. This is bar culture Ana Roll.
